Throughout the semester, I have learned a great deal in this course. I was taught how to create my own blog in order to produce weekly blog posts, how to use new software, and how to work better with my peers. When I began to do my blog posts, I did not realize that there could be an effective outlet to let my thoughts be shared. I have always seen it in movies, where people would use their blogs to express themselves, but I never really thought it worked. Before joining the class I could not have imagined myself creating a blog and posting on it; however, I am pleased that I was able to try something that I would have not otherwise. It was fun to write about things that I found interesting and be able to read other students blogs on what they found interesting. Through reading other students blogs, I noticed that everyone had their unique way of expressing their thoughts through writing and I was intrigued that their voices could be heard just by reading their posts.

Using software to create my class projects was entertaining. I enjoyed using the Adobe Spark software to create my photo poetry project. Creating a poem from scratch and finding photos to pair with my words, made my imagination come to life. I got to see my thoughts come to life. I also enjoyed doing the podcast project and using GarageBand to create it. Coming up with a story and sounds to pair with the story was fun. Hearing the final product made the project worth the time and effort it took. The sounds and dialogue made me feel immersed with the scene and when I heard other students podcasts, I was impressed by what they created. They made their stories come to life as well. Using iMovie to create my video project was also an enjoyable experience. I was able to showcase my creativity through a video by telling a story with clips of what I was talking about in the background. I found it fun to edit my video and display what was on my mind through a computer screen. Becoming more familiar with these software has improved my efficiency with them. I am more comfortable using them than I would have been if I did not. I can now integrate the knowledge that I have for these different software to any other projects that I may have in the future.

I was also taught the importance of group work and the positive impact it can have on my personal work. Before my journey of this course, I did not enjoy working with my peers. I found it unhelpful and extremely time-consuming. My beliefs changed as I often received positive feedback on my work when the class worked in groups. Instead of being judgmental, the class was supportive of my work and gave helpful suggestions. I have now become open to the idea of working with my peers, regardless of the class, because I witnessed how it could benefit me in the long run.
