David Matthews: “...I’m detective David Matthews and you are ----, alias, “The Painter?”
*silence*
The Painter: “...”
David Matthews: “Mr. -------, do you realize the harm you have caused?”
*silence*
The Painter: “...“
David Matthews: “Hey...buddy! I’m talking to you!”
The Painter: “I am aware that you are, detective.”
David Matthews: “Then answer my damn question!”
The Painter: “I’m proud of my doings. Is that what you wanted to hear?”
David Matthews: “Damn you!”
The Painter: *chuckles*
David Matthews: *frustrated* “...Julius Martinez. His body was found on the date of February 22nd at 5:02 am. Why did you murder him?”
The Painter: “I have many reasons for my doings, but I am unfamiliar with who you speak of.”
David Matthews: *annoyed* “You didn’t even know his name, did you? Officer Julius Martin-“
The Painter: “Ah! The fool cop. A screamer he was.”
David Matthews: *frustration shows*
The Painter: “It seems like you knew him, detective Matthews. A colleague perhaps?”
David Matthews: “A best friend.”
The Painter: “Well, isn’t that unfortunate. If you want, you can get me out of these handcuffs and I could unite you two together again.”
David Matthews: *grabs him by his collar*
David Matthews: “Listen to me you sick freak...”
The Painter: “Easy now detective. You wouldn’t want to hurt the only man that could give you answers to your silly questions, would you?”
*pause*
David Matthews: *releases him*
The Painter: “Good. Now. You want answers and I have them but before I tell you what you what, let me tell you what I want-”
David Matthews: “You’re in no position to be making demands”
The Painter: “Ah. You’re wrong detective. I am”
The Painter: “See, when your fool of a friend began to investigate me, I took it upon myself to defend my privacy. We all have rights, don’t we detective?”
The Painter: “I captured him and tortured him for days. I didn't want to end his punishment too quickly.”
The Painter: “He gave me valuable information and a lot of it. Don’t think I’m not aware of who you are detective. I know you very well and I know the things you have accomplished.”
David Matthews: “What the hell are you getting at?”
The Painter: “Ah! Patience detective. Don’t spoil the fun. Do you think I was captured because I made a mistake? No...I wanted to meet you.”
David Matthews: “Is this a game to you?”
The Painter: “A game? Oh no. But it is a matter of survival and you are a threat to my own.”
The Painter: “When I was younger I saw many things. I was 12 going on 13 the first time I saw a dead human body. Fascinating it was. A once functional being turned into a lifeless corps.
David Matthews: “Why are you telling me this?”
The Painter: “Because I learned a valuable lesson leading to that day. Always be one step ahead. See, I killed that man and there was no way I could be suspected. I knew what I had to do to seem innocent even though I was the only person to be in contact with him.”
*music intensifying*
The Painter: “Tell me detective. What do the names, Aliea and Margaret mean to you”
*slams desk*
David Matthews: “I swear if you...”
The Painter: *chuckles*
The Painter: “They’re your daughters aren’t they?”
David Matthews: “What do you want?...”
The Painter: “I thought I was in no position to make demands, detective. Funny how things change when you threaten someone’s family.”
David Matthews: “What do you want!”
The Painter: “Something simple. Your life. You see detective, if ‘one of the greatest detectives’ in the state is on my case...what am I to do? I can’t function with you on my tail. So you're elimination is vital to my existence.”
David Matthews: “You’re a sick freak.”
The Painter: “You said that before detective.”
David Matthews: “You’ll regret this.”
The Painter: “We all have regrets, but i know that this isn't one of mine. When I get out of here, and I soon will, you'll have twenty four hours to hand yourself over to me.
David Matthews: “and if I don't?”
The Painter: “Guess you'll have to wait and see.”
